That creepy-looking bastard pictured to the left is JOSEPH BROOKS, the Academy Award-Winning songwriter behind You Light Up My Life, the 1977 Debby Boone hit from the Brooks-helmed film of the same name. The L.A. Times reports that Brooks was found dead in his New York apartment today in what was an apparently bizzare suicide. Brooks, who was awaiting trial for allegedly pulling the 'ol casting couch move on several would-be actresses (rape and molestation are the charges), was found on his living room couch with a plastic dry cleaning bag over his head, a helium tank connected to the bag while a towel was wrapped around his neck.
MONTAE TALBERT, best-known as M-BONE of CALI SWAG DISTRICT has died. Not many details have surface just yet, but reports via friends and family indicate that the rapper was shot and killed earlier this morning. Talbert last hit Twitter himself just 8 hours ago, while fellow CSD member C-Smoove announced the sad news just 2 hours later. Montae was only 22 years old. Watch Teach Me How to Dougie below...

Although details are not yet available, it has been confirmed that FRANKIE SPARCELLO, bassist for New Orleans' EXHORDER has died. Sparcello (pictured left in a photo now adorning the band's Facebook page) died sometime yesterday, Tuesday, March 22nd. No additional details have been made available.

Some sad news this morning, as the BBC reports that guitarist GARY MOORE has died. Adam Parsons, who manages Thin Lizzy, told the BBC that Mr Moore had died in the early hours of Sunday morning. Early details seem to indicate that Moore passed away in his sleep while on tour in Spain.
Known for his blues-based style of playing, Moore performed with THIN LIZZY during two different periods, and enjoyed a lengthy solo career that saw him perform and/or collaborate with a diverse realm of artists ranging from B.B. King to Ginger Baker, Ozzy Osbourne, the Traveling Wilburys and beyond. Gary Moore was 58 years old.
Earlier this evening it was revealed that former LFO lead singer Rich Cronin has died.
The news hit almost simultaneously via Twitter, where both TMZ and fellow boy-band alum Lance Bass broke the news. While Cronin may be best known for penning and performing LYTE FUNKY ONES' 1999 hit "Summer Girls," his career after the group's 2002 breakup found him appearing on VH1's reality series MAN BAND, releasing a 2008 solo album, and forming a rap group called LOOSE CANNONS.

Miller, who was 99 years old, passed away on July 31st leaving behind a musical legacy that will last for generations.
The musical multi-hyphenate known for his "Sing Along with Mitch Miller" records, was a musician, producer, composer, television host, conductor, A&R man, and record exec.
Working A&R for Mercury Records and later Columbia, Miller was the man who signed such artists as Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Percy Faith, Patti Page, and others. He also discovered Aretha Franklin, fought the likes of Frank Sinatra and Colonel Tom Parker, and passed on signing Buddy Holly.
His "Sing Along with Mitch" series on NBC spawned records of the same name ("Must be Santa" is still a staple of the Holidays at my in-laws) while airing in the 1960's.
Miller continued performing through the past several decades, garnering a Lifetime Achievement Grammy in 2000.
PETE QUAIFE, co-founder and original bassist for the KINKS has passed away.
Quaife played on many of the Kinks best-known hits, including "You Really Got Me," and "All Day and All of the Night."
The members of SLIPKNOT have just concluded a live press conference broadcast via Ustream in which they discuss the death of bassist PAUL GRAY. The 38 year-old musician was found dead yesterday in a motel near his Des Moines, Iowa home.
It has been confirmed that SLIPKNOT bassist PAUL GRAY has died. The bassist was found dead this morning at 10:50am by an employee of the Townplace Suites by Marriott hotel in Urbandale, Iowa - just outside of his Des Moines home. According to KCCI TV in Des Moines, foul play is not suspected, though a cause of death has not yet been revealed. Video from the news station can be viewed at this location.
In a sad update to our earlier story, it has now been confirmed that legendary rock vocalist RONNIE JAMES DIO has died. While several sources prematurely began ringing the death bell last night, Dio's family, friends, and fans had been holding onto hope that his deteriorating health would improve. This afternoon WENDY DIO, his wife and manager, has released the following statement via his official website:
