A few months back, the good folks over at Titan Books sent me a copy of their new coffee table book, GALLERY 1988's CRAZY 4 CULT: CULT MOVIE ART. On the surface one might think that this is yet another collection of movie posters from decades past, but that would be incorrect. It's a collection of movie posters and artwork inspired by the films of decades past.
THE GOONIES are a sacred institution, so when we saw this new GOONIES mashup with SUPERMAN - specifically ACTION COMICS #1 pop up on TeeFury this morning, we just had to share. As of this posting, you have less than 23 hours to purchase one of these killer t-shirts (that's the way they do it - 24 hours and they're gone), and the best part is that they're only $10 bucks! Check out the full design below, then click through to get yours at TeeFury!
What do you think? Stylish?

If my daughter were a tad older, you can be sure we'd be seeing THE MUPPETS this November. While she's not old enough to do the movie theater just yet, she's liking this clips on YouTube (and the old movies on DVD), so it's great to share another new one with you this morning. Indeed, THE MUPPETS are back with another stealth trailer/parody trailer, and this time they're taking on GREEN LANTERN. Get ready to see what happens to Kermit the Frog in BEING GREEN...
The STEVEN SPIELBERG produced, J.J. ABRAMS directed SUPER 8 has taken the top spot at the box office this week according to studio estimates. Pulling in almost $38M over the course of four days (including Thursday sneak-previews), the sci-fi picture has grossed roughly $45M worldwide thus far. With a reported production budget of $50M, it will be awhile before the 70's-set film recoups it's cash and marketing budget, but this might be the start of some throwback marketing. Could this be a sleeper hit that grows legs and becomes a huge hit?
RA.ONE, a new Bollywood Superhero starring Shahrukh Khan and directed by Anubhav Sinha will be hitting screens internationally later this year, and today the first full theatrical teaser has hit the 'net.
The film features special suits for the hero of the day, and regular readers may have noticed that the suits were actually created in Crestline, Ohio by Robert Kurtzman's Creature Corps - which like Kik Axe, is part of the CORPKA Entertainment Network.
I'd been wanting to comment on this all weekend, but since I was out sunning myself on the beach and getting laid for the past two days the opportunity didn't arise. Happy Monday.
On Friday, Lord Hoveround over at AIN'T IT COOL NEWS posted a phone pic of a new poster for THE MUPPETS, stating 'the poster kind of freaks me out. Looking at them all full bodied.' His sentiments were of course echoed by the talkbackers that have been lurking unbathed on that site since 1996, proving how many idiots don't actually watch movies, they just talk about them on the internet. The big gripe? THE MUPPETS have legs. This same isssue was brought up by Dixon Gaines of Movieline on Saturday, who stated 'you should never EVER see the Muppets’ feet when they walk.'
I'm really hoping that the next SUPERMAN film is the finest version of the character that we've ever seen take flight. If not, someone inside Warner Bros needs to be fired. After all, why do they keep telling the same bits of story over and over again, constantly revisiting General Zod - one of the most boring characters within the SUPERMAN universe? Since it's beating a dead horse at this point since we'll never have a straight answer, what we can tell you is that ZOD has been cast yet again for the Zack Snyder (SUCKER PUNCH, DAWN OF THE DEAD) installment of the big screen franchise.
Today is either very pop-culture heavy, or exceptionally filled with weird shit. What I present to you below comes courtesy of one of my NYC PR friends, spreading the word about a curious music video featuring CHUCK NORRIS and BRUCE LEE.
Like PINK FLOYD and THE WIZARD OF OZ, something strange happens when you play Girls Will Love Your Lips by glam-folk act AUDITORIUM (aka Spencer Berger) at just the right moment during the Kung-Fu classic WAY OF THE DRAGON. Take a look...
