SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR frontman COREY TAYLOR and SLIPKNOT percussionist M. SHAWN CRAHAN  have just returned from the 2012 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL, where they held a launch party and acoustic show for LIVING BREATHING FILMS, their new film production company (read the full announcement here) that will specialize in (but not be limited to) mystery, suspense and horror. The duo created a short film titled THY SHALT I which was shown as a special treat for attendees of the launch party. It will be a bloody Valentine's Day indeed when DAWN OF ASHES release their FAREWELL TO THE FLESH EP. Set for release via Metal Blade Records on Feb 14, 2012, the new EP brings together the electronic sound of DoA's past with the black metal stylings of the band's recent GENOCIDE CHAPTERS, while giving listeners a glimpse into the future. Mark Hunter of the CHIMAIRA Institute for Sonic Studies in Cleveland, Ohio, has just posted four previously-unreleased demos for your listening enjoyment. No, these are not from the newly-revamped lineup, but outtakes from THE AGE OF HELL sessions. Check out Clockwork, Scum of the Earth, and two nameless entries below. I recommend putting them on the hi-fi, sitting back in your easy chair, and enjoying a fine alcoholic beverage while you give these a spin. Enjoy!

We don't know if someone from BIOHAZARD or their label got wise to who they were dealing with or what, but the band's previous plan to offer a ''free download'' of their new album REBORN IN DEFIANCE via a shady corporate rock mag's website (check out #15 on this list) has been stopped. A statement issued on Facebook today reads:

I get a lot of shit for this, but I dig EMMURE. Hell, I liked their last album SPEAKER OF THE DEAD so much, it wound up on my 2011 year-end favorites list. That said, the band has re-signed with Chicago's Victory Records and is has announced that their fifth studio album, SLAVE TO THE GAME will be released on April 10th. Check out the video below, in which frontman Frankie Palmeri announces the new record and plans for 2012.

LAMB OF GOD are releasing their seventh studio album, RESOLUTION this coming Tuesday, and to celebrate in style, Sirius XM Liquid Metal will present "Lamb of God's RESOLUTION Week." Starting Monday, January 23 at 12pm ET and ending Monday, January 30 at 3am ET, the station will be giving listeners somthing related to LAMB OF GOD at least three times per hour.

STERN Pinball has announced the availability of their AC/DC Pinball Machine, and the detail on this thing is impressive as hell. 

This past November, SCION A/V put on the first SCION LABEL SHOWCASE (I have a Scion XB, so it's cool) at The Roxy on Sunset in Hollywood. Nuclear Blast brought DECREPIT BIRTH, ORIGIN, ALL SHALL PERISH, and EXODUS to the stage - with each band performing a 30-minute set.
