Cinedigm Entertainment Group hit Kik Axe Music™ with the news that it will release NO ROOM FOR ROCKSTARS to select theaters across the country on Thursday, March 1, 2012. The documentary chronicling the VANS WARPED TOUR was helmed by filmmaker Parris Patton, and will have it's world premiere today at the 2012 Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

SHONEN KNIFE are currently celebrating their 30th Anniversary and have announced a November 29th release date for their third Christmas release. The SWEET CHRISTMAS maxi-single follows 1991's Space Christmas and 1999's All I Want for Christmas in the SHONEN KNIFE holiday catalog. Good Charamel Records will handle the release, issuing Sweet Christmas on CD and Digital formats.

As the founder of Asian Man Records, Mike Park has become a fixture in the independent music scene, having released records from ALKALINE TRIO, SMOKING POPES, and many more. He's also been known to release some of his own music from time to time, and as a Rock Father of two himself - Park's latest release sets sights on the world of children's music. Released this past August, SMILE is a 12-track collection of original songs for the little ones, personally approved by Park's own son and daughter (3 & 5, I believe).

When LESS THAN JAKE decides to put out a DVD, they don't just put out a DVD. For ANTHOLOGY, the long-running ska-punk outfit performed six albums in their entirety and filmed the whole thing. As with most ''full album'' performances, the LTJ crew tossed in a few bonus track for the crowd, with the end result contained on the first three discs in the ANTHOLOGY set.

The rock 'n roll pimps over at Aggronautix just delivered some news to Kik Axe Music™ that they've just received JOHNNY and DEE DEE RAMONE as POP! Rock Vinyl Figures. Now, unlike other products over at Aggronautix, they didn't design these - Funko did - but they're offering them in their store. If you're into the ''urban vinyl'' trend, or just dig THE RAMONES, give these a look as they might just be a good gift for that hard-to-buy-for person this Xmas.

SOCIAL DISTORTION, BAD RELIGION, X, THE VANDALS, and more will join Gary Tovar and Goldenvoice in celebrating 30 years promoting live shows with GV30. The three-night event will take place at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium December 16-18, 2011.

I hate seeing established bands have to keep scraping for funds so far into their careers, but that's the way the world works right now. Thus, KRIS ROE of THE ATARIS will be releasing an acoustic solo album on November 18th via Bandcamp. The album will be sold via donation on a ''pay-what-you-want'' basis, with all proceeds going to help finish the recording of THE ATARIS'  new record, THE GRAVEYARD OF THE ATLANTIC.

I really enjoyed YELLOWCARD's WHEN YOU'RE THROUGH THINKING, SAY YES when it was released this past March.  In my initial review I stated that it had ''a strong set of legs to carry it for quite awhile.'' Here we are in October, and we're still talking about it. While the original, electric version of Sing For Me has just gotten a video that will debut across MTV Networks this Tuesday, the band has issued a surprise Sunday night announcement that an acoustic version of their new album will be available through Hopeless Records beginning tomorrow, and is streaming now over at Absolute Punk. The End Records have chosen BLACK FRIDAY 2011 (November 25th) to release a one-time-only 7" pressing of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas from punk legends FEAR. On the b-side is Another Christmas Beer. The single will be available exclusively through independent record stores as part of a Black Friday Promotion organized by the folks behind Record Store Day. The only other way to get it (for those like me that have no record store nearby) is through The End Records webstore - The Omega Order. This release is limited to only 700 pieces worldwide.

How do you close out a festival that was founded with roots in ''punk rock?'' By bringing a punk legend to arguably one of the most punk rock venues at the fest - and that's just what the 2011 Red Bull RIOT FEST did. Last night, the most hardcore of Riot Fest attendees made a trip to the AAA Warehouse - a small, inconspicuous location in Wicker Park, former home to AAA Fence - for a performance by MARKY RAMONE's BLITZKRIEG. After spending a little time mingling post-Weezer at the Congress, I shot over to AAA where a line had already formed outside the plain gray building. The venue had already reached maximum capacity per fire code. Inside, a sweat-drenched, crowd was packed wall-to-wall like sardines in a can as ex-MISFITS frontman MICHALE GRAVES led the four-piece band through a set of THE RAMONES' greatest hits.
