As I'm sitting here in snowy Chicago fielding reports from Pamela Koller at the Kik Axe Crew out in Anaheim for the 2011 Winter NAMM Show, my head is spinning over all the new gear that's on display. More importantly, I'm starting to contemplate my next guitar purchase, and SCHECTER is one of the brands at the top of my list. With some killer axe's on display in Booth #4290 in Hall C, Schecter is played by members of PRONG, GWAR, DISTURBED, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, THE CURE, and more. Take a look at some photos of their current offerings below...
As announced last month, Korn and Disturbed, two of rock's biggest acts, are teaming up to co-headline this year's “Monster Energy Music As A Weapon V Tour.” With the first half of dates on sale now and off to a scorching start, the highly successful Monster Energy’s MAAW V Tour has added even more dates and new markets: a second leg from March 8th through March 30th that will include stops in Las Vegas, Texas, the West Coast and many more.
Multi-platinum recording artists Disturbed have claimed the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart with their new release Asylum (Read the Kik Axe Music review here). The album hit stores on August 27th and sold 179K copies in its first week. This is the fourth consecutive number one release for the band.
Disturbed have announced that they will be doing a LIVE webcast on their Ustream Channel on August 31st at 2:30 PST/5:30 EST. Fans can submit questions to the band by leaving comments here.
It's hard to believe that Chicago's DISTURBED have already been at it for over a decade. The band that rose to stardom by inviting listeners to get "Down With the Sickness" has come a long way from the dark clubs of the Windy City (anyone remember the bassist auditions at Oasis 160?) to headlining arenas and playing host to their growing MUSIC AS A WEAPON tours.
On their fifth studio effort, ASYLUM (due out next Tuesday via Reprise Records), the band turns in what is arguably their most powerful performance yet, broadening their sound well beyond the chugga-chugga riffage that has become synonymous with the band - though there's plenty of that to be had as well.
Multi-Platinum rockers Disturbed are currently offering another sneak peek of their new album Asylum. The album track "Never Again" is now available for free download here by sharing the page with your friends on Twitter.
Are you ready to enter the ASYLUM? Chicago's DISTURBED are launching their latest album on August 31st, and to celebrate the band has provided a KIK AXE PRIZE PACK that YOU have a chance to win.
One lucky reader of Kik Axe Music will snag a t-shirt, DECADE OF DISTURBED Greatest Hits CD, a sticker, a limited edition lithograph, and a Disturbed wristband. Ready to enter?
Multi Platinum recording artists Disturbed have just released a video for their new single, "Another Way To Die", which can be seen below.
